When Robert Died was written when my friend challenged me to write a book for National Novel Writing Month (NANOWRIMO). I had no idea what I would write about until one day, sitting on my porch with my cousin, we started talking about the squirrels in my yard. I enjoy feeding them and watching them run around. My cousin said they were a nuisance in the yards, and her family wouldn’t mind shooting them.
A story was born.
