I few years ago I wrote forty chapters of this book, but now I’ve begun again at chapter one because I forget what I originally wrote and need to revisit everything. I’m very excited to find out what happens in these forty chapters.
I remember the characters but have added one more: the narrator. The narrator is a hybrid alien/human.
The baseline concept is that an alien race is dying off* due to a disease that has caused most of their females to become infertile. After years and years of abductions and testing among many life forms, they find that human DNA can merge with theirs and, with the addition of some chemical enhancement, their race can survive with very little impact from the human genes.
Communication is nearly impossible between the two races, so problems arise…
*Pieces of Heaven was also based on this basic concept, but it was a single alien entity, not a race. The other concept I keep returning to is that miscommunications and misunderstandings are the root of most problems in life, whether you’re a human, an alien, or a single entity blissfully floating around the universes and meaning no harm.
