You Could Be Right

I recently watched a video of comedienne Emily Catalano’s where she says she used to be an atheist and explains why she’s now an agnostic (link to the Facebook reel). It’s funny. For, me, I’m agnostic for the same reason most others are, I suppose. I don’t believe anyone on Earth knows what happens to us after we die.

As far as I know, agnostics don’t hold meetings like believers do. I’ve always thought it was probably because we all lean toward one belief or another, so no one agrees and getting together to discuss or argue about it seems like a waste of precious time.

I’ve not yet found any belief logical enough to lean toward and just hope the atheists are wrong (but they don’t really know, either). If they’re right, though, I’m okay with that, too, and will still be a compassionate human and try to enjoy life while I have it. I don’t want to die but I’m not afraid of being dead. It’s the process of dying that sounds like it can be pretty painful and scary. I like to believe that if our consciousness continues it’s in a better way, but I don’t really know, either.

Pieces of Heaven is not what I believe, but wouldn’t it be wonderful to travel, unhindered, throughout the galaxies?

If you tell me about your religion/belief I’ll probably say “You could be right”, regardless of my level of belief in the possibility that you could be. My child once told me they’ve learned that when I say it, it means ‘I don’t want to talk about it anymore’.
